#WeWriWa: Drugged and locked away in JAGER #GalacticDefenders #scifirom #sfr

Weekend Writing Warriors personal

Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

I’ve been sharing snippets from JAGER is the second book of my sci-fi adventure romance series, Galactic Defenders. I have a couple more snippets to share before I move on to a new story.

Set-up: Last week Katrina went to shake a Terran’s hand, but ended up on her knees, unable to move. Now that her head has cleared up, let’s find out where she is… (edited from original to fit)

Katrina shivered as she slowly opened her eyes, her head pounding, and goose bumps all over her skin, even on her scalp, making the pain even more excruciating. She moved her leg, her knee brushing across a rough surface. No clothing in between. Her heart hammered as her memories became clear and her awareness grew.

That woman had drugged her, stripped her of her clothes, and shut her away in what felt like a freezer. Katrina stretched her arm above her head, her knuckles scraping against a metal bar. A cage, one too small for her to lie comfortably in.

Examining the area beyond her tiny prison, she spotted many motionless figures standing around her, oddly human looking, though there was something else familiar about them. If only she had more light, she might be able to get a better look. Then one of them drew closer, peering through the bars.

JAGER: Galactic Defenders Book Two

Jager’s new squad of Defenders has completed training, but the spoiled princess who has grated on his nerves since her first day of training is called back to Hemera for a yearly celebration. When Princess Katrina doesn’t show up, Jager must drag her home, where he wishes she would stay.

Katrina is a Defender, not a Princess. And there is no way she wants to return to a planet she hates for some stupid ceremony. Not when she could be out killing Erebus with her squad.

But when a new enemy threatens both their lives, they must work together to survive.

Searching for his loved ones after the attack. #MWTease from BRYCE #99cents #scifi #romance

Get teased, titillated, and tantalized with this week's Mid Week Tease

Happy Wednesday! Thank you for visiting me for another Mid Week Tease! Sorry I missed you last week. It was a hectic week, and I came down with a yucky cold. I’m still battling it, but it’s definitely not as bad as it was. Today I’m sharing another excerpt from BRYCE, the first book in my Galactic Defenders scifi adventure romance series.

**Today is the LAST DAY to get BRYCE on sale for 99¢**

Setup: Last time Bryce had returned from Niesgoo and had just learned there were survivors on Hemera after the Erebus attack. But, he still doesn’t know if Lalia and Katrina survived…

Bryce hurried off the platform ahead of his squad and weaved a path through Defenders and traumatized Hemera. The survivors walked around in a state of shock and mourning loved ones common to those who’d witnessed so much destruction. But, he was in no frame of mind to help them. Not until he found Lalia and Katrina alive. He searched faces, none of them familiar, the Defenders already on the planet all new, squads he had never worked with before. Likely their first mission.

In the middle of them all, he spotted Pollux interviewing a survivor and receiving reports from Defenders. He had to know if they’d located the princess.

The Warwa noticed Bryce and nodded. “Excuse me a moment,” he said to the Hemera in front of him.

Bryce tensed as he rushed to the other man, hoping he held good news. “Please tell me you’ve found them.”

“No.” Pollux grabbed his arm. “But someone reported seeing them in the forest, running from an Erebus.”

“Fornax!” The news slammed his heart harder.

“There’s more.” Pollux moved his fingers across the tablet with great speed. “They had a little girl with them. And the princess was limping.”

Bryce looked to the sky and screamed. He should have listened to Lalia when she said she didn’t want to go back to Hemera; his fault for not admitting his relationship to the Alliance. He could have refused the assignment, insisted on staying with Lalia and Katrina on the planet. Then he wouldn’t be wondering if they were still alive, unharmed.

“Please tell me there are Defenders out looking for them.” If not, he’d roll the head of the major in charge of this mission.

“Yes, Zulu is out there.” He showed Bryce coordinates on his screen. “That’s where they are now.”

“Thanks.” Bryce pulled out his WHM and plugged in the position.

The hole had barely opened when he leaped through. On the other side, he searched for the first Defender he saw, a Mingot, and grabbed him by the front of his uniform. “Where are they?” He would not rest until he found them.

BRYCE: Galactic Defenders book one

A dedicated Defender…

Bryce fell in love once, but after Lalia was ripped away from him, he locked his heart from feeling anything for anyone else. Instead, he devotes his life to the Galactic Alliance, killing every bloodthirsty Erebus he comes across.

A shunned princess…

Lalia Comosova fell in love with the wrong man. When her parents learned of her transgressions, they sent her to Earth to hide her error in judgment from the rest of the kingdom.

A second chance?

When these lovers are reunited after many years apart, they have a chance to find happiness together. But fate steps in and threatens to rip them apart as it did years ago.

#WeWriWa: Unexpected meeting with a Terran in JAGER #GalacticDefenders #scifirom #sfr

Welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors post!

I’ve been sharing snippets from JAGER is the second book of my sci-fi adventure romance series, Galactic Defenders. I posted last weekend, but forgot to sign up. If you want to read that post, you can find it here.

Set-up: Last week Katrina was busy killing Erebus on her own. She was doing quite well until she met a Terran woman who wanted to shake her hand for killing the Erebus…

Katrina wiped her hand on her pants then reached out to take the woman’s hand. “Just doing my job, ma’am.” She went to let go, but the woman’s grip was stronger than she expected.

The woman yanked Katrina forward and jammed something sharp into her neck. The piercing pain was the last thing Katrina felt before her ears started to ring. Her eyes lost focus, and her head spun. The ringing grew louder, so high pitched she slammed her hands over her ears. “What did you do to me?” she screamed.

Vision blurred, she put her hands out and dropped to her knees before she fell down. Through the fog, she could barely make out the woman’s outline. “What did you do?”
